10X 16 Pastel on Newsprint Paper
This was an exercise in a workshop with Dawn Emerson using analogous colors on the color wheel. This is not my typical subject, but I enjoyed playing with various colors and learning from Dawn. She is such a dyanmic and creative artist and instructor!
There are two things that re energize me and allow my creative side to emerge: dancing and painting! I love exploring different backgrounds, textures, as well as incorporating some impressionistic elements to my paintings. Figures, especially women and dancers are my preferred subjects! I enjoy interpreting the power of movement, poses, as well as the vulnerability, elegance, sensuality, and strength in women.
